We were born seeing the need for an organization that would help connect people of Eastern European heritage, specifically those from the post-Soviet Union territories. The scattered community of Eastern European Gypsies (or Roma) in the U.S. and the conversation the EEIHF founders had with the leading Romani organization in Eastern Europe, naturally called for this Foundation to be born.
While presently we are focusing on connecting the Eastern European Roma, which today remains one of the most vulnerable ethnic groups in Europe, the future is hopeful in that we will be able to address the needs of so many other groups of Eastern European heritage living, here, in the United States.
